  1. Do not rush with the learning process because acquiring a new skill always take practice and time. The learning process can be slow and dull for some; the pace can pick up with improved skills and mastery of chords as well as techniques.
  2. Alternately picking on the guitar strings is always advisable. To keep the speed, pluck the strings upward and downward rather than just downward.
  3. If you are enjoying each exercise your tension levels will be less than if you’re stressed about learning how to play guitar. I’ve personally found playing the guitar to be most relaxing and get really excited when I can play faster songs with ease. If I get stressed with one song I move to a song I can play better and mellow out a bit before returning to the previous song again.
  4. My experience has taught me that patience really works in my favour. It’s also easier to learn new things when I have practiced some of the other things I’ve learned first, just to put me in the right frame of mind.
